 Wichita Metro Awards
Each year many south-central Kansas companies compete for the popular Metro Awards. The annual Metro Awards competition recognizes not only the #1 fastest growing company in the region, but also many others with lesser but nonetheless stellar growth rates.
The competition is sponsored by Allen, Gibbs & Houlik, L.C., the Wichita Business Journal, and Wichita State University's Center for Entrepreneurship. The competition's WSU Center for Entrepreneurship mission is to honor Greater Wichita's fastest-growing, privately held businesses and their contributions to the growth and success of the region.
To be eligible for the competition, a company:
must be an independent, privately held corporation, proprietorship or partnership.
cannot be a subsidiary or division of any other company.
cannot be a utility or a regulated financial institution.
must be headquartered in one of the following counties: Sedgwick, Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, McPherson, Reno, Sumner, Lyons, Chase, Marion or Pratt.
must have fiscal revenues of at least $250,000.
must have a three-year sales history, ending in fiscal.
